This is a stunning wine and one of our favourites! Very impressive for under £16 a bottle.
Wonderfully crafted Shiraz from Reyneke. Divine layers of black fruit, white pepper, and spice aromas with hints of chocolate and herbs. A lovely soft palate with smooth tannins. Little flickers of smoky bacon and chalkiness dance on the finish. Very elegant and approachable. Highly recommended.
Hand harvested, concrete tank fermentation, and 14 months oak ageing. Can drink now of course, but will continue to improve for another 4-5 years in the cellar.
Back when the Reyneke farm first began as ‘Uitzicht’ in1863, there were no chemicals or technological advancements. Just the land and nature. This has continued on as they have become a beacon of organic and biodynamic winemaking in South Africa. Reyneke vineyards are herbicide, pesticide and fungicide free. They often use minimal intervention methods, natural processes, and concrete fermentation.
