Papagiannakos, 'Assyrtiko', Attika, Greece

We have run out of stock for this item.

Assyritko is considered the signature white wine grape of Greece. Most widely associated with the island of Santorini, though there are other areas which it grow extremely well. It needs a windy, warm, and coastal climate to thrive. This wine is from Attika, an area which has such characteristics.

Assyrtiko is growing in stature and demand. This wine shows why. Fresh, floral, zesty with blossom aromas. It's racy, saline, and full flavoured. Great Assyrtiko is textured, and laden with minerality. An excellent food friendly wine. We recommend it highly.

Domaine Papagiannakos was established in 1919 in the heart of the plain of Mesogaia, Attica - just 30km from the shadow of the Acropolis. Third generation winemaker, Vassilis Papagiannakos, was born and bred in Markopoulo, and grew up around the family winery.
