Lukas van Loggerenberg, 'Break a Leg', Rosé, Paarl, South Africa

£14.99

Super cool Saffa rosé. Modern, funky, and... delicious. Made from 100% Cinsault grapes which is unusual but delightful, this wine is natural with no commercial yeasts or enzymes added and steel tank use for purity. A wonderfully light, versatile, and delicious rosé which deserves to be tried.

The wine is named so because Lukas during his first harvest broke his knee caps and needed double surgery. Perseverance certainly pays off. He spent most of it in hospital, but with the help of his friends and family they brought it in and made their first vintage.

Lukas van Loggerenberg is a winemaker who owns no vines. But out of a large and remote shed he crafts wonderful wines. He sources from premium sites and growers in the area which are recognized for their fruit quality. A young, ambitious winemaker who is turning heads in South Africa, even greats like Chris Alheit are aware of his modern, innovative ideas.
