This is a wonderful LBV port which is on the lighter and more elegant side of Port wines. Wonderful fruit aromas, candied plums, richness, and very smooth. This is exceptionally high quality port from Graham's. The fruit that makes the base wine comes from a mix of four Graham's owned vineyards in a premium Douro site near Tua, so the provenance and quality control is high. 5 years oak before being filtered then bottled - to be enjoyed young.
Grahams' was fonunded in 1820 by brothers William and John Graham's. They started out as textile traders on the Portuguese coast, but after receiving payment for a debt from a customer in port barrels, decided to switch to port production realising the potential. We're very glad they did! The house itself is one of the last true independent Port producers and sits in the top bracket of prestige (alongside Fonseca, Taylor's, Noval, and Warre's et al).
