Framingham, 'Pinot Gris', 2018, Marlborough, New Zealand

Well made Pinot Gris from New Zealand is delicious. Similar aromas to it's home in the Alsace, but with a tropical streak. This wine is no different. Mellow pear, apple, and creamy quince with a touch of smokiness. Generous tropical flavours which is balanced and ripe.

The wine is medium-sweet, so there is a fair amount of sweetness here. But this is so well balanced it just works. Very pleasurable to drink. It's perfect with citrus, creamy deserts, or even a bit of spicy food, try with fresh Vietnamese or Thai dishes!

The Framingham label was launched in 1994 with one Riesling, and has since expanded to include Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. Framingham produces wines from their 19.5 hectare estate vineyard (certified organic since 2014) and other selected sites. Their Riesling vines, planted in 1981, are among the oldest in Marlborough.
