Guigal’s famous entry point wine is of a superb quality. Full bodied with a long finish and plenty of elegance and finesse due to the well balanced tannins and fruit. Rich, well balanced, and rounded out by 18 months oak barrel ageing.
The Guigal Domaine was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in the ancient village of Ampuis, home to the wines of the Côte-Rôtie. These vineyards are over 2,400 years old, and the small terraced walls - characteristic of the Roman period - are still visible today. E. Guigal is considered to be one of the finest Rhône valley producers and some of their top wines are collected the world over.
