Duffour Père et Fils, 'Blanc', 2019, Côtes de Gascogne IGPFrance

This wine is bright pale yellow in colour, with youthful highlights. It is very light, and aromatic, with white peach and tropical fruit notes. On the palate, it is crisp with bright citrus flavours, good weight and a lasting, clean aromatic finish. It has 5g/l of residual sugar so there is just the faintest touch of sweetness, but its tiny, and rounds off the wine beautifully. A very refreshing style which should be touted a bit more often we feel!

Domaine de Saint-Lannes, located in the centre of Gascony, has been owned by the Duffour family for several generations. Michel Duffour took over the estate in 1971 and his approach is very much based on quality rather than quantity. By reducing yields and working meticulously in the winery he has made this estate one of the best and most consistent in the area.
