A beautifully made full robust red from South West France. The region is not as known as other illustrious neighbors, but the wines are excellent and usually very good value for money. Due to the climate, they are typically strong, powerful, and punchy. This wine is juicy, and full of dark fruit flavours with good earthiness and grip. Tannat has high tannin levels and a delicious chewiness can develop. For fans of strong red wine, this is a must try!
Sylvain Dabadie took over the estate from his father (who in turn had taken over from his own father) in 2014, assuring the continuity of a multi-generation family estate. Sitting on the border of the two Pyrénées mountain ranges. Laougué’s vineyards, some of them over 100 years old, are fully worked by hand. Sylvain’s father, Pierre, was part of the movement of winemakers who innovated farming methods and brought modern winemaking techniques to the region in order to revitalise Madiran appellation. There is an awareness of biodiversity, environmental sustainability and resource preservation. The estate is therefore transitioning into organic farming.
