A Rioja classic, and one of the best selling red wines in the UK still. A surprisingly aromatic nose with red fruits and liquorice, nicely balanced with the American oak flavours of vanilla, cocoa and caramel. A benchmark everyday Rioja.
CVNE (colloquially pronounced 'coonay') is one of the top prestigious 5 or 6 Rioja producers in the region. They were founded in 1879 as the Compañía Vinícola del Norte del España (CVNE), in Haro, Rioja by two brothers. Descendants of those brothers are still attached to the winery. In 1940 they were the first to use concrete fermenter tanks in Spain. Today CVNE is recognised as one of the top Rioja producers, a benchmark for quality, and their wines are popular around the world.
Please note the wine comes in screwcap as is standard in the UK, unlike photo shown.
