For under £20, this is an outstanding Malbec wine, and deserves to be up there with best from Argentina - if anything it might even be better - showcasing a unique, softer and fresher style of Malbec. It's complex, elegant, and with touches of floral and spicy aromas on the nose. There is a stony quality, and a wonderfully fresh and sumptuous finish.
Caliterra was established in 1996 as a partnership between the Robert G. Mondavi family and Viña Errázuriz, who sought to realize their shared dream of producing high quality wines that reflect the whole potential of Chilean nature, terroir and fruit. Today, Caliterra is a fusion of the Spanish words “calidad”, quality, and “tierra”, land. It is focused on the Colchagua Valley and produces top class wines.
