A classic and iconic Vino Nobile. Beautiful cherry, fresh aromatic, earth, and tarry aromas. Touches of wood shavings in there, graphite, and sour cherry. Accomplished tannins, excellent acidity, ripe, and satisfying. A world class Tuscan wine.
18 -24 months in Slovenian oak casks. Boscarelli recommend to leave at least 6 years from vintage year before opening, and it reaches it's peak after 15-20 years of cellar time.
This 2016 wine is ranked 39th in the World by Wine Spectator in a recent report. While we don't tend to subscribe to these rankings, it does indicate the level of this wine.
Poderi Boscarelli are quite simply one of the finest producers of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG in Tuscany. The wine is world famous and is often cited as a benchmark for the style by critics and makes up 80% of the winery's total production. Boscarelli started in 1962 and were a large part of the rejuvenation of premium Tuscan winemaking in the 60s and 70s. They have 22 hectares of premium vineyard site based around small farms.
