Luján de Cuyo is a distinctive area within Mendoza and does produce unique wines. This wine has an intense ruby red colour and is a fruity style of Malbec, as opposed to earthy, which is common in wider Mendoza wines. On the nose, a beautiful bouquet of sweet cherries, cranberries, figs and hints of exotic toasty banana. Crisp, harmonious, and balanced with power and structure.
Altos Las Hormigas is based in Luján de Cuyo, the first officially recognised appellation in Mendoza and one of the region's premium vine growing areas. The Altos Las Hormigas estate is known as a Malbec specialist with a reputation as one of the country's top five producers of this particular variety. They're in the premier league of Malbec.
