Uruguay is certainly not a country people would call out if asked about wine countries. If we were on Pointless, we're pretty sure it would be a Pointless answer.

However, there is a growing industry there. And while it is currently led by a small handful of quality renowned producers which put it on the map (like Garzón), there is the general feeling that we will probably see it more often in the coming years. They have great climates, soils, ambition, and a stable economy, which is hard to find in South America.
