Nebbiolo is regionally seen as the 'King of Piemonte'. It's a native varietal to the North west of Italy and goes into the famous Barolo and Barbaresco wines. It's produces rich, grippy, almost floral, and tar scented, deep red wines which have high acidity and a mouthwatering sensation to them. It ages wonderfully due to these characteristics, and aged Nebbiolo can be some of the most amazing red wines you are likely to have.
It's not just Italy who grows it, and since the millennium there have been experimentation in different countries, the biggest example being Australia, where the grape takes well to the soils and cooler climate areas around Adelaide.
