Mencía

Mencía is native grape to North West Spain, where it makes medium bodied red wines. It typically displays a type of earthy, spicy, herbal, juicy style which is some ways between Pinot Noir and Shiraz.

It's growing in popularity, distinctive, and very versatile. Light enough to have with nibbles, but can take richer dishes too. It's definitely worth a try!
