The Lebanon is the key premium wine producing country in the Middle East region. There is quite a large, dedicated, and knowledgeable wine industry there, despite the enormous challenges they face from political instability, economic uncertainty, and advertisement.
Lebanon's weakness in some ways, has become its strength in the wine industry: being at the cross roads of culture, faith, and trade. This has enable Lebanon to bring in influences from very different historical times and the wines have benefited as a result. Even though it is very hot in the summer, if the vineyards are cool at night and cared for, Lebanon can make outstanding wines which always surprise people.
