The Grenache grape has always played such an important role in the world of wine, but rarely is it single out for greatness. It is present in so many red and rosé blends and is a key premium grape in many regions of France, Spain, Australia, South Africa, and others. But single varietal modern Grenache wines are helping us discover more widely the character of Grenache.
The grape typically developed into full bodied, robust, rich red wine with high fruit and tannin. It's great in blends, and can be excellent as a single varietal as long as it has been nurtured otherwise it can get a bit jammy and ripe.
