Chardonnay, a bit like Riesling, has had a bad rep over the years. It's universally adored and respected by the wine industry, but doesn't have the same admiration with many consumers. Of course, this perception has come from oodles of cheap overly oaked, clunky, buttery, white wine from countries like Australia that were sold in huge volume in the 80s, 90s, and 00s. and still the case today on many supermarket shelves.
Needless to say, Chardonnay is unfairly represented there. In truth, it's one of our best and noblest wine grapes and has the unique ability to offer something new in a different growing site. Quality, modern, clean, balanced Chardonnay is absolutely delicious, great with food, and will totally change your mind about what Chardonnay really is!
